Driving in UK rain: 7 ways to keep visibility clear

Wet British weather makes mirrors and glass harder to read. Here is what actually helps on everyday journeys.

Start with clean glass

Water sits differently on dirty glass. Road film, grease and old wax residue hold droplets in place and scatter headlights at night.

Clean the inside of the windscreen as well as the outside. Interior haze is a common cause of glare that drivers blame on the weather.

Treat mirrors, not just the windscreen

Wipers keep the windscreen usable, but door mirrors are left to the rain. A water-repellent treatment helps droplets move off the surface as you drive.

Manage fog from the inside

Damp coats and passengers raise cabin humidity. Use air conditioning with the demister to dry the air rather than only heating it.

Slow down before you need to

Stopping distances increase significantly in wet conditions. No accessory changes that, so leave more space.

Nuvello products support visibility and vehicle care. They do not replace safe driving practices or correct vehicle maintenance.
